Disbelief.

Utter Shock and disbelief. Those are the only things I felt as I saw her go up. My airship. My Beatrice. One minute I was on the external deck, enjoying the summer skies. The next minute, the alarms went off and I joined my crew on the lifeboats. Now we’re here, watching her crash into the ocean, and my heart is breaking.

Beatrice was not just any airship. She was my very first, handpicked by my father. Albeit, she was small, and made for a small crew, but it’s all that I needed. Now she’s gone, and I’m on a lifeboat in the middle of nowhere.

“Ma’am, we have company!” yelled one of the deckhands. I don’t remember his name anymore, considering that he’s now under the rule of the captain, and I rarely get to see my crew. I really should make a note to see them one of these days.

The rest is all a blur considering someone the Captain called “Feuzen” kicked me in the head and off the boat trying to attach us to his ship, but that’s how I ended up on the Melancholia. He has since apologized for it, and I can’t exactly blame him considering he’s still young and needs the training yet.

“You, get up. We’re at the docks, now do what you need to and make it fast.”

That was the wonderful captain who decided to help us. He’s just so pleasant to be around. I have to thank him though, considering he did take us back to the mainland so I can arrange for the remains of my ship to be brought to the local mechanic.  That is my queue though, so I will make sure to write more after I speak with the mechanic. I have this horrible feeling I will be spending more time on the Melancholia…
